"Come
in Unity!" Our community groups have been launched and are off to an exciting start! This page will provide an overview of the New Hope weekday Bible study groups being offered. If you are interested in joining one of the community groups, please contact Jan Walters.
To foster an intimate community of believers experiencing and extending God’s love.
Affirmation
Small groups should provide an atmosphere where group members affirm and
encourage one another and seek to build one another up. Group members should
respect the differing backgrounds and spiritual maturity levels of other
members.
Caring
Group members should develop genuine caring relationships and seek to meet
one another’s needs as God enables. This may mean in practical ways
as well as spiritual and emotional ways.
Openness and Honesty
It is a goal of the group to develop authentic relationships. This requires
a willingness to be open and honest with one another, sharing feelings,
struggles, hurts, hopes and joys. Group members help one another grow in
Christlikeness by speaking the truth in love.
Safety
Loving one another means never judging one another. Group members should
feel safe confessing their sins and sharing their struggles, weaknesses
and shortcomings. Openness and honesty can only happen when group members
practice grace and trust one another not to gossip or repeat (even as a
prayer request) what other members have shared with the group without that
person’s permission.
