The Unsatisfied Worshipper

By Julia Fowler, Worship Arts Pastor

Based on the book The Unquenchable Worshipper by Matt Redman

"As worshippers of Jesus Christ, we live in the tension between the now and the not yet.  From the day re received Him, our souls found their destiny and reason.  The reality of his love and presence invaded our hearts, and we found fulfillment.  The Bible reveals a God who "satisfies [our] desires with good things." (Psalm 103:5)

In this chapter Redman uses the term "unsatisfied" to acknowledge that fact that we only see in part, what one day we will see in whole.  Eugene Peterson once wrote that, "worship does not satisfy our hunger for God--it whets our appetite."  The truth is that the closer we get to Jesus the more we find we desire Him and the more we want to learn about him.
