Do it with all your might
By Julia Fowler, Worship Arts Pastor
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol (the place of the dead), where you are going." --Ecclesiastes 9:10 (AMP)
Our God is so faithful. He has uniquely equipped all humanity with indispensable gifts and useful characteristics. These gifts and graces work together to form His church and to carry His message of Love into the world.
I struggle the same as you with being as motivated as I should to do tough kingdom "work". Sometimes it requires getting dirty, being messy, and inconvenienced. Sometimes it requires moving out of my comfort zone. Sometimes it requires sacrifice of my time, even my energy, sleep or finances. Sometimes God's work requires plain old sacrifice on my part in order to help bring benefit to someone else. Sometimes it requires taking a backseat. Sometimes it means receiving no credit, applause or even a thank you. Sometimes the work hurts…it hurts so bad…and yet I know, and I believe you know, we should still do the work with all our might!
Is it tough to break away from the solace of our comforts? Absolutely. Is it hard to drop our own agenda's and put others needs and even wants ahead of our own…Jesus knew it would be difficult for us, and it is one of the reason's He sent the Holy Spirit to help empower us to do these things we are otherwise unable, in ourselves, to do.
When you find it is hard to do the work God has called you to do, call on the Holy Spirit to help you. He will be faithful.
